I'm new to nano reef.

I'm not actually a beginner. I've been keeping fish and corals a few years now but took a 2 year break. I'm always open to learn new things. My current tank is.

IM lagoon 25

AI hydra 52 HD w/ mount.

Upgraded media baskets.

IM ghost desktop skimmer.

2x spin streams.

Upgraded return pump. MJ-1200.

Avast ATO and Aqua lifter.

2 koralia nano 425. Set on a timer random bursts every 15 mins.

Chemipure elite.

Purigen.

Chaeto. Reverse light schedule in back AIO area.

Sometimes carbon. When needed.

Stock.

About 10 pieces of frogspawn. Hammers. Torchs. octospawns On one island.

Neon GSP covering another island.

Red Sea Pulsing Xenia covering an island. It was flesh color now it's a metallic blue/silver.

Duncan's covering one island.

Branching pink matting Pink star polyps super glued to columns I made myself with reef putty.

2x maxi mini carpet anemones. On their own island. One neon yellow. One maroon/green. Hunting a teal or blue.

Dragons breath macro rubber banded to rubble to add color to GSP island. Contrast between the green and red is really Nice.

2 true Perc clownfish. Juvies. Will not host anything their all over the tank. Which I like.

1 fire fish. Juvi very active durring the day.

1 Royal gramma. Juvi hides too much might rehome.

1 coral banded shrimp full size. Might rehome due to hermit murder and replace with blood red cleaner.

No idea how many blue hermits. Had like 15, CBS Kills them for shits and giggles if they enter his cave. He don't even eat'em.

2 zebra turbo snails.

1 Trochus snail.

1 nasarrious snail.

This tanks been running since mid August. Everything is healthy and happy. Rock is over 10 years old. It's from my friends 300G. Basically bullet proof. For fun while cycling I dosed like 10ML clear ammonia reading was off the chart. It processed it over night to 0. Plus i wanted to kill the worms I hate getting bristled.

Ammonia & trite 0. Trates under 5. Calcium 500. pH 8.2 SG 1.026 phos 000.1% I don't know the ALK mag etc never cared to check them. I don't chase numbers.

Weekly 20% WC using IO reef crystals.

Skimming is a light tea color. Think i remembered all the stats I know off the top of my head.

Pictures?!

The GSP is really cool I attached it to a octopus looking coral bone and tossed it in my buddies tank last year. And it covered the whole thing. Even looks cool when the polyps are retracted. It looks like a octopus lol.

Welcome! :) Your tank sounds awesome! Do you have any pictures? I'd love to see all the coral!

Thank you I'll add some tomorrow when lights go on and everyone wakes up.

Actually a question. First time having a Royal gramma. I'm used to big tanks and big fish.

Are they always so.....stressed? The thing looks like it wants to have a heart attack at all times I'm worried it'll get ich from stress and contaminate the rest. It isn't sick or anything. He's just I don't know if I go near the tank he darts into his hole. Then when I look in the hole he has this "I wish I was dead" look to him lol. LFS store said he was wild caught directly from the Caribbean. Then quarantined before being sold. Guess he's getting used to being in a third new box. (QT. Then LFS sale tank. Then mine) I only have him like 4 days.

Poor little guy. Try to leave him alone for a little while and let him settle in. After a while he'll realize you bring the food. Be sure to keep your tank covered, as they are jumpers.

Is it a royal gramma dottyback?

I have one. It was skittish at first, darting into his rockwork but now he comes out as soon as i'm near the tank.

I find most fish are often skittish at first until they get used to their new habitat.

I don't know lol.

It's not looking good. Laying on the sand under a over hang. Lethargic. Still stressed from the freshwater dip. Isn't eating when I feed the tank but if I blast frozen brine his way he eats it. Leaving him alone hoping he gets better.

Damn thing stressed himself sick.

Everybody else is fine

How is he now

Not lethargic. Just hanging out under an over hang. Won't come up for food. I have to spot feed with a turkey baster but he eats it if it's near him.
