What's going on everybody?!

My Frogspawn frag decided the Duncan coral was too close to him and extended a couple tentacles about 3 inches. The Duncan retracted and I noticed brown goo streaming from it. Immediately removed and dipped in Revive then Seachem Coral Dip. This was Sunday. He remained closed.

Then yesterday, I come home from work and something knocked a trumpet coral over and landed on the head of the Duncan. Upon inspection I noticed a different looking type of brown goo around the Duncan's closed top and on the trumpet where it was touching the Duncan.

Took them both out and dipped, however the Duncan had squiggly looking fibers sitting on top.

1) Anybody know what happened here?

Now my mushroom has moved over really close to another trumpet that has his tentacles extends in the day light.

2) do trumpets sting?

3) do mushrooms bother their neighbors?

My Favia is about 6 inches away from any other corals. His tentacles are about 4-5 inches. It opens up and extends its tentacles shortly after I move or place any new corals in.

4) is there anything I can place by the Favia?

5) Which corals can be placed in close proximity without killing their neighbors.

6) Which LPs create chemical toxins to bother their neighbors?

Your corals might all be stirred up. You might want to run carbon and do a water change sucking out any brown goo. My Duncan went though this and required many iodine treatments. Be sure to baste or somehow blow all the good out while soaking the colony in iodine and try not to let any back in. I think favia are supposed to be super aggressive, not sure. Good luck.

The squiggly things were our Duncans messenterial filaments. They have them out when usually when stressed or under attack/defence mode. Occasionally I'll have a coral put a couple out while feeding. Favias are really aggressive, I have one that has pretty long sweepers that pack a nasty punch.
