Soft Coral ID Help

Hey all,

Purchased three soft coral frags from my LFS on Saturday but there was a lot going on that day and I forgot the exact types/names of them. Wondering if someone can help give me exact names and also comment on how they look.

Thanks!

#1 looks like a green Rhodactis mushroom

#2 & #3, I agree with Astinus, possible toadstool leather, and zoa/paly (can't tell the size of the polyp in pic)

The shroom is pretty

Those sound right! I knew he gave me a mushroom, leather, and zoa....just wasn't sure of exact names. The zoa frag has a few smaller "polyps" that glow orange but they haven't been opening much the last day or two (they're the closed blue ones that are shorter).

The Mushroom is definitely doing the "best" right now. It has doubled in size since Saturday, covering more and more rock each day.

The leather and zoa have not really grown or changed much yet. I've been playing with my lighting and settled on 50% blue/40% white (Orbit Marine LED fixture, 10 gallon 12" deep tank). Not sure if they need more time to get comfortable and accustomed.

Number 1 looks like a hairy mushroom. Two is a toadstool and 3 is a paly or Zoa.

I find it is next to impossible to "name" zoas. There are so many morphs and in addition, the same coloring might have multiple names. I wasn't sure if that is what you were going for.

Leather corals can sometimes take some time to fully acclimate and get happy in a tank. I think it looks fine. If the zoas aren't still fully opening, try lightly basting to ensure there's no micro algae film preventing them From opening. They can get moody.

Yeah, I agree Stella, there are so many zoa and paly names and morphed ones that it's sometimes hard to tell but then there are some you look at and know right away what they are.

Thanks everyone!

The zoa's do fully open a few times a day, but they never stay open so I'm guessing they are either still acclimating or just don't see it necessary to be open for whatever reasons?
