Biocube 29 led retro

I'm up in the air between the nanobox large retro (4 channel) and the rapid led kit (I would do at least 4 channels on this as well) for my Biocube 29. I have a few questions about them.

My main concern with the v3 arrays in the nanobox, is how is the coverage of the tank? Is there any shadowing or spotlighting? I have heard of people with the aurora puck facing this issue.

Second, I would probably do a custom mix on the rapid led kit (if I go that route), but I don't really know what to do there as far as colors and layout. I feel like the rapid kit would provide more coverage over the tank, but I assume there will be some light banding due to the spread of the leds. How bad is this? And could I use a diffuser to help with it?

I know both kits have good reviews. As of now I don't have any corals in my tank and to be honest no real plan as to what corals I want to keep at the moment. But my stock bulbs are shot and now is a good time to make a change. Any input or advice is welcome.

Thanks,

Gene

Gene,

Either kit will work out great. I can tell you the NanoBox kit you will not have to worry about shadowing. There are two pucks on the heatsink. Here is a video I recently added for the install as well.

Hope this helps!
