Clownfish in freshwater?

I mis calibrated my refractometer at 1.035 instead of 35ppm so I've been adding a lot of RO water throghout the past 3 weeks. Since slowly lowered the salinity day by day, I believe my two clowns have gotten used to a specific gravity of 1.008 or maybe even lower. They seem extremely happy but my hammer, frogspawn, and zoas have been closed and I couldn't figure out why until my lfs told me my salinity was extremely low and freaked out "oh no no no no!"

My question is can I just move my clowns to my freshwater fluval edge tank? I know some species like the bull shark and salmon are able to transition into freshwater for spawning. Will this have any negative effects on my nano cube besides the closed corals??

Clearly, you need to do more research. Clowns are not migratory fish. Their slime coat will come right off in fresh water and their bodies will begin to shut down. RESERACH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH.

No, they will not survive. Ppl do hyposalinity tanks for medical treatment and it can have negative effects if done incorrectly, same with freshwater dips. Putting clowns in freshwater - will kill them.

Your corals are closed because the salinity is really low and a drastic drop from 1.035 to 1.008.

Salinity should be kept at 1.024 - 1.026 and stable at 1 number.

You should do water changes and slowly increase the salinity. You could also top up with salt water not fresh to increase it slowly.

To keep your sg stable once its corrected, top up every day with fresh ro/di or distilled to the same level everyday. Until you are confident in the levels, check your sg everyday. Stability is key.

Is this a troll? I'm not sure you should be keeping SW fish or corals if you need to ask this question...

Many fish can acclimate to varying levels of salinity, but your clownfish cannot go freshwater... Even 1.008 is pretty salty if you were to taste it.

I'm with the others here. Get your tools properly calibrated and then use SW to top off for the next few days until it's where you want it. You shouldn't increase more than 0.005 or so in a day so expect this to take several days. Note that you can move much more in the opposite direction with fewer consequences generally. +1 to clown79 - stability is key.

As said clown fish will not survive in freshwater, they will die relatively quickly in fresh water. Yes some fish can adapt to fresh from salt or salt to fresh, however clownish are not one of those that can.
