Embarrassing photo...

I noticed that my glass was getting algae on it fairly quickly after cleaning it the other day. I realized I was down to one Trochus snail and about a million Nassarius snails. So I picked up five Cerith snails, one dwarf Cerith (impossible to find here so maybe a baby?), nine Astraea snails and a Spiny Star Astraea. I had two deaths, one each Cerith and Astraea. Now the point of this post...

Oops! That's filthy!

Also, bonus photo from a tank at Big Al's of a very greedy mini carpet anemone!

I really like the spiny star snails and trochus. They are constantly cleaning.

Ceriths are great for sand and between corals(small areas)

The issue with Astreas, when they loose their footing and you don't right them - they die.

Indeed. I have to remain vigilant because they are not exactly sure footed either. I like Trochus snails for their autonomy but they won't eat green hair algae.

These astraea are already cleaning up a lot of algae!
