How to switch to bigger tank

I currently have a 10 gallon fowlr running, been up about 4 months. A friend has offered to give me a 20 long that I would like to move my tank into. Can I put the rock I have in my current tank along with new live or dry rock and try to avoid a cycle, or do I have to setup the new tank completely new and wait to move everything into it. Trying to avoid having them both up at the same time.

It can be done. Lots threads here bout it. I moved from a 29bc to rsm e260. I chose to setup 260 for cycle but turns out I really didn't need to but it is safer. Use a new sand bed and seed it with a couple cups of existing and any new live rock added must be FULLY cured and transfer as much of your existing water as you can. Also move filter media from the 10g to the 20 to seed it as well. Doing this after a couple of weeks I saw no cycle in the e260 and moved everything over.

No dry rock is dead and you will cycle as the bacteria is not present and must grow. Cured live rock is fully live with no dead rotting stuff on them, such as the lr in your 10g. Brandon 429 has a big right up on this. You may be able to add to your lr some true dry rock with nothing that will rot, but you can not rely on dry rock.
