Nathaniel Z
I left for one night and when I came back this morning my matted filefish was stuck to me filter. I turned everything off, but sadly he had died and his right fin was completely ripped off. I don't understand, I've only been working with aquariums for a little over a year now. I'm still a beginner. I thought maybe it's because of the lack of food, so he got weak and wasn't able to swim away. But I fead him brine shrimp and seaweed everyday and I watched him eat both every day. He seemed completely healthy he wasn't having any abnormal behavior. I knew I should have gotten a sponge filter but people said it wouldnt be necessary because fish know how to swim away from strong currents. I don't know, was my filter just too strong? Was this something that I could have controlled? I'm really upset, that was probably my favorite fish. If anyone can maybe explain why this happened I would appreciate it. Thanks Link to comment
