side stand tips

i recived a free tank and stand recently, and part of my design calls for a side stand to house my top off reservoir, cords and other supplies. i plan on using 2x4s and such, any tips on design or things i should consider?

In my opinion, always add more room than you think. you can make a power panel and a controller centre to make things more organised. If the cabinet your making is against a wall, consider an open back... this allows for easy access to outlets, wiring, and what not. 2x4s work well and the support beams can make for good modular shelving posts. consider putting in cheap Ikea LED cabinet lighting - makes working at night easier.
