Clown79 Posted September 7, 2016 Share Posted September 7, 2016 The chamber that is used for filteration is the chamber where the water enters from the display. This is where you use the caddy with floss and chemical filteration. The water enters and falls onto the floss to collect particles/detritus, then it goes through your chosen carbon/phos removers. Most use the second chambers for heater, a skimmer, refugium etc. I start using floss immediately upon set up and once the cycle is complete or close to, I start using carbon. Link to comment

JD_Aqua Posted September 11, 2016 Share Posted September 11, 2016 I have the oceanic BC 14. In mine I have the heater in the first chamber, the second chamber is a intank media basket. Filter floss, purigen/chemi-pure elite and on the bottom rack is a mini refugium with chaeto. Link to comment
