cessnabird
Hey guys and gals. I have noticed a few of these little things for a while now, lingering in the live rock and reaching out when it's feeding time. What gets me, is that this one finally came all the way out of the rock for a pellet, and it seems like it only has three arms. All the photos I have seen show all the mini-star critters having 5 arms. I am iust curious what these animals are. Thanks, Jeremy Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Yep, brittle star. Mostly harmless detritivores. Beneficial to have all around. Link to comment
Astinus
Agreed. Looks like a Brittle to me. Good HitchHiker for you! We Bought ours. Starfish can and do lose arms and the lost arm(s) will re-grow. Link to comment
nancymatthews
That is a Mini Brittle Starfish. They are scavengers. Good to have. I have one that was like that except it had 5 legs Link to comment
cessnabird
I guess this one is just a little special, having 3 legs. Thanks again for the information! Happy Reefing. Link to comment
Proudgeek
I have tons of these. They will reproduce quickly but are good to have. Link to comment
