al_flood
Hey, I'm setting up the same tank going thru the cycling period right now. Was reading your equipment list and saw you were running the IM Ghost skimmer, what are your initial thoughts on this skimmer? Link to comment
Tune
I like that it is made by the same people as the tank and built it for these tanks, fits perfect, sits on the bottom so you do not have to worry about suction cups or hanging it. I have no problem with micro bubbles at all. I've read some people have during the "break in" period. now just have to get some junk in there for it to skim. lol Link to comment
hallucinathan
Tank looks awesome! It's cool to see that the skimmer isn't throwing a lot of micro bubbles. I personally would hold off on the chemi pure. That stuff is powerful and may prevent the tank from cycling properly. Down the road if you end up with a heavy bio load you could pop it back in. Good luck with the tank. Link to comment
Tune
thanks for the advice! Link to comment

SantaMonicaHelp
I really like your Innovative Marine Reefrack! I've never seen one until I saw this thread. Also, I'm loving the clowns, what are they, DaVincis? - C. Smith Link to comment
Jayva
Aren't you supposed to cycle without a skimmer running. Not being a dick I'm asking lol Link to comment
Tune
I figured it wouldn't hurt to aerate the water while the skimmer is breaking in. I know its not going to produce much if anything with just 2 clowns. I don't see why you wouldn't want to run it either? They are platinum clowns. Thanks, I liked them as well. I took them out today and added sand and rock. Pictures to come shortly!! Link to comment
Jayva
I didn't even notice the fish in there. Be careful with that. Fish in cycling. Prime and WC are gonna be your best friends. Especially with expensive designer clowns. Link to comment
spectra
Looks good but I think you are going to need a bigger light. I have the same tank with a Corona LED over it looks like a XR30 and its just not enough for the tank. Waiting on a quad from Nanobox........ I also have the IM skimmer and it actually pulls stuff out. Its loud and still makes micro bubbles............. Link to comment
Jayva
As for a light. You have expensive items so this won't break your wallet. I highly suggest AI's hydra series. The 26 would do great on that. The 52 even better. I compared pics 5 days apart using the 52 and the coral is doubled in size in just 5 days. Link to comment
Tune
I think the clowns will be alright. They are part of the damsel family. I have no issue with skimmer so far. not loud or no bubbles?? The only thing i do not like about this light is the spread. I was thinking about the kessil 360we. I love the way they look. I'll have to look into the other lights you have mentioned. Thanks!! Link to comment
