Is there something wrong with my Firefish and how can I fix it?

Hello, as you can tell I am new. I set up a 10 gallon tank and I had 2 fish in it, a clownfish and a firefish. I put them in there and they were doing fine and were doing almost everything together and swimming around together. Then I came home and found my clownfish dead dried up on the floor and my Firefish has never been the same. He never comes out a swims like he used to and only comes out to eat (rarely). Is there something wrong and what can I do?

sounds like you need a top! I've had 2 fish jump successfully and a firefish that tried many times (bounced off my egg crate) Firefish are very touchy, and likely to jump. He's probably even more nervous now cuz his friend disappeared.

 

Just keep feeding him and hopefully he chills out- but I would think about a screen, egg crate or something before your firefish is on the floor too.

 

You can also get a new clown and hopefully they are cool together.

Thank you, I am probably going to get a Clownfish today and see if that helps, but I do have a screen the only open spot is where i put for my temperature.

Fish can jump out of small openings.
