Jayva
Went thru a mini cycle after setup. Because everything was live. Yada yada yada. It's done and over with. Tanks been running like a week now mini cycle finished 2 days ago. Added 2 blue leg hermits. 1 trochus 1 cerinth 1 nass snail. Ammonia and rites are staying 0 My question is. I'm running an ac20 with those biomax rings. And a sponge. That I read are nitrate factories. If I remove the sponge and biomax ceramic rings. Am I gonna cause another mini cycle because I'm pretty sure those rings have bacteria on them now. My nitrates are only 5 but I wanna keep them low as possible. Link to comment
fishfreak0114
I probably would have removed them in small increments if I was you, but because you're rock was from an established tank I'm sure it has lots of bacteria. If you're concerned about a mini cycle, you can always dose seachem prime. That way even if there is it won't hurt your CUC or clowns. Link to comment

And swap filter floss. I use white felt from a fabric store. I'll keep the rings for now not to throw anything off. But I do swish everything around in the water I removed from WC Link to comment
