shormovas Posted August 25, 2016 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Just got these nassarius snails from LFS one of the snails has something growing on its shells not sure what it is please help me ID it and let me know what to do!!!! is it bad? is it good? It has small tentacles that sway with the water and they are almost brownish with off white stripes Link to comment

Figster Posted August 25, 2016 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Looks like some sort of anemone, most probably a nausance one, look up Manjano or Aiptasia anemones. If I were you in would quarantine the snail and return it back to lfs because of the hitchhikers. I would be careful about cleaning the shell. Anemones can reproduce by laceration, meaning if you try to scrape it off and don't get all of the tissue, you'll have a bunch of little nems to deal with. Link to comment
