Fuzzy Dwarf Lion Help

So I've had a fuzzy for a few days. He's doing good. Eats live and frozen food.

My question is, )and I've already done some reading on this)

What is your experience with them becoming more active in the tank?

I know they are not active fish, but most people seem to have theirs swimming around in the tank during the day. Mine sticks to the rock work then emerges to swim after lights out.

I've also read sometimes lights can be too intense for them? I have an AI Prime set at 26 wats. It's as far above the tank as the arm will allow it. So I'm not sure that's it?

Maybe he just needs more time?

I really would just love input from owners on their typical behavior once acclimated to the tank.

Thanks friends

I'm sure someone will supply you with an answer here on Nano-Reef. I don't know a whole lot about Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish, but I think that they are one of the coolest looking fishes out there!

i have a fuzzy dwarf lion fish for over 4 months now. Mine does not swim around when my main lights are on. I have t5s. he goes nuts in the morning with natural light and at night he swims the tank when my moonlights go on. Normally when my t5 lights are on, he just hides under my magnetic rock or under my tonga branch. If they are frozen trained they will come beg for food if they see you.

I used to have one a few years ago: In time it'll recognize you as the food giver and be more active. But.... being cryptic is in their nature (refer to "behavior", I can also give you more in-depth articles if you want).

They like to be stealthy and will likely patrol/move between different hiding spots, if they move during the day. That's what mine did (unless I was near and he thought food might come). This doesn't mean they won't acclimate and become more active, just don't expect Tang / Damsel like swimming from them.
