Lately I've been wondering if the bio-max and sponge are actually hindering the livelihood of my tank..? Might it be best to just run the ChemiPure alone?? Link to comment
metrokat Posted August 18, 2016 Share Posted August 18, 2016 What problems are you facing and why do you think it is the biomax and/or sponge? Chemipure is carbon. Carbon is good to remove toxins and organics, it makes the water clear by removing that yellow tinge. A sponge catches detritus - you won't catch that with just chemipure alone. You could try switching to filter floss maybe? Bio-max is supposed to act like live rock and give bacteria little hidey holes to live in. Chemipure doesn't provide that. Link to comment
