I know we can't test for inorganic phosphates, so it might not be known if GFO does. But theoretically could it remove inorganic phosphate? Link to comment
seabass Posted August 14, 2016 Share Posted August 14, 2016 GFO binds inorganic phosphate. It's inorganic phosphate that we test for. Protein skimmers can help to remove dissolved organic phosphate in the water (that could otherwise eventually break down into inorganic phosphate, which algae can utilize).
