FishI
Hello Nano reef, I have been blowing the sand around my 20 gallon tank and kicking up detritus and yucky stuff. I have been noticing these grey tubes that kept on coming out of the sand. They float a little longer then the sand and then settle. I thought it was just general fish crap stuff. I blew the very top layer off the sand while blowing a nearby rock and i saw them but they where all in a formation sticking straight up. See pic below. Any ideas. They dont seem to move. Thanks in advance. Link to comment

Elizabeth94
My guess is that they are tubes of fine sand that micro life, such as worms, use to move around in. But what do I know, I went bare bottom so I don't see any of that neat sand stuff anymore lol. Link to comment

smeagol108
Yea every time I stir my sand I see it. I try to swirl an area of the tank each time I do water changes with pumps real high to suspend detritus. Link to comment
