DudE31
Hey everyone, I have had a frogspawn coral for around 3 months with no problems. It even started growing new baby heads under the two main ones. These polyps have been bailing out the last few days and the flesh is starting to recede from the base of the skeleton up towards one of the mains heads. Parameters have not changed at all in the last while, including flow etc. All other LPS and SPS are doing great. Params Calc -420 Alk - 8.4 Nitrate <5ppm Phosphate 0 ish , hard to tell with test kit Any one have any experience with this ? I am wondering if its just receding up to the head of the coral which I have had happen on my hammer corals, or if i should be worried Link to comment
cruiZe
my frogspawn does this on some heads from time to time- really frustrating. I've had some heads die, but most of them come back. Do you have any tiny pellets to feed it? As long as you don't see any white/ brown jelly around the base of the heads- I wouldn't panic - try not to touch it or change anything. Link to comment
DudE31
Thanks for the input, I moved it to a lower flow area just to play it safe, it has been open everyday -polyps fully extended so I'm not worried yet. Just strange that these things happen especially when everything else is in check and more sensitive corals are fine. Link to comment
