Any Decent shops to buy Fish, Hardware and supply's in lower westchester ?

Had to drive all the way to Queens to find anything worth bringing home.

Look up Maxreef they are in CT in stamford. Worth the drive.

MaxReef is in Bridgeport. When they just moved to their new spot in CT they had so much potential but unfortunately they changed their focus away from the retail side onto almost exclusively custom clients so the retail selection over time has shrunk, got more expensive and just isn't that great anymore. Unfortunate again, because they had so much potential with the space they had, to be a great retail shop.

 

Further north in CT is The Coral Reef in Stratford and Exotic Fish and Coral in Milford, both excellent shops. I have made purchases from both shops and I highly recommend them.

 

Nearer to you is The Reef Shoppe in the Bronx. Literally a hole in the wall, it's located under a Chinese restaurant. From what I've heard, prices and selection are excellent. They get new stuff in on Sundays and Mondays and there are lines out the door. Gonna try to make a trip there soon.

Definitely check out The Reef Shoppe--it's probably only a 30 minute drive for you on the Bronx River Pkwy. It is indeed a small shop, but they usually have a good/healthy selection of fish, the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are reasonable. Like Water Dog mentioned, they get shipments in on Sundays.

 

I'm very new to SW and am always asking the guys questions when I visit...they've been very patient.
