Leyth
I received a 15" gooseneck with the nanobox duo. However, the way I want to mount it just doesn't seem safe (staggered to the side). But even if I mounted it straight, it doesn't seem like it's very secure. I ended up breaking both the screws so I used some metal screws with plastic caps so that it's not metal on glass. I just don't feel overly confident with my solution. Any advice? Link to comment
HarryPotter
Put a piece of wood or acrylic between the glass and screw so it'll be more stable and balanced, plus will stay more vertical. Link to comment
Leyth
I was hoping I could go pick something up at home depot today that might work better. I just don't feel right about the screws being so high up. Like the Ai Prime mount had a larger single screw further down on the mount that just seemed to hold on better. However, if there is no better solution then I will give yours a shot. Would I let the metal screw directly hit the acrylic in that situation? Should I put anything between the glass and acrylic to add friction? Link to comment

Being that your order was from last week I do not mind swapping out. Let me know! Link to comment

Being that your order was from last week I do not mind swapping out. Let me know! So, I'll definitely pay you for a new mount if I decide to change as I broke the one you sent me lol. I ended up taking the whole thing apart and using a 24" kessil gooseneck. I will post pictures later. The Kessil gooseneck definitely struggles with the weight of the nanobox duo if you mount it from the aquarium rim, but I've got it mounted off the counter the tank is sitting on. Hard to explain, but it seems to work for my application. As far as the light goes, this thing is incredible. It's beautiful aesthetically and makes the tank look beautiful as well. Too soon to say how the growth is, but it seems like other people have had good experience growing SPS and LPS so I'm not worried. The controller is pretty good as well, but could use some work. I do have a few questions that are a bit off topic. How many watts is the Nanobox Duo Plus M? Just for my curiosity's sake. Do you know if blue fish is open source? I'm a software engineer and I'd love to take a look at adding some features that might be useful. Link to comment

Just watch that gooseneck JUST in case because I have heard theres can sag over time. As for the APP, I am working with Bluefish to create a NanoBox app that will really streamline things. If you want to send me an email with some of the opinions please do! It is not open source. -Dave Link to comment
