[Gilly's Reef]

If you follow my thread, you will know i currently have a Sea EVO 5. 2 months running and I'm ready to go bigger lol My younger brother has the itch for a reef tank so we have been talking about it a lot the past few days. He is looking at doing a 20 long drilled with a sump. I told him if he goes through with it, i will do the same. SO my new build plans are revolving around a 20 long. I will drill and plumb mine for a sump as well. I will do a 20 long for my sump so i can have a good size refuge and of course water volume. i plan to have a heavy load so I'm on the fence of a protein skimmer. Ive seen some beautiful tanks with no skimmer, just consistent water changes. Lighting is another head scratcher for me. To go the T5 route or not... Theres no denying the growth results of T5's. Possibly thinking of making a hybrid with a Nanobox retro kit. ATO will be a must. My little 5 gal is a battle with evaporation. Im moving at the end of the year so all this build will be starting soon. I will be collecting supplies now until we move so i dont have to buy everything at once. I have no idea yet for what i want to stock, but i do know i want to use high quality live rock this time around. Im so stoked to start this build. Ive been in the hobby consistently for 5 years now and I've never been more excited for a build than this one haha I dont know why. Maybe because my brother will be doing the same so we can share our success and troubles together. I will definitely be sharing this experience with everyone.

since your getting a fresh start and taking your time, i would get together only high end equipment such as radions or hydras for lighting, vortech powerheads, reef octopus or aquamaxx skimmer... its gonna cost more but you'd be much more satisfied with the quality equipment..
