Pjanssen
Trying to come up with a good schedule for keeping my reef happy without over or under feeding. This is what I've come up with so far. Opinions and advise greatly appreciated. August 2016 Sheet1 by Penny, on Flickr Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
While it looks great, every tank will be different. We don't know what size tank you have, your bioload, etc. It really just comes down to you and your tank and figuring out what works best for you. Link to comment
HarryPotter
That is so friggin complicated ? Feed mysis every day and then add in a splash of whatever else you feed like IMO. No need for a schedule that in depth for a reef; I doubt corals get a schedule in the wild too Link to comment
RollaJase
I don't really keep track of feedings and the like but I do keep track of my testing, results and dosing. This is what I have come up with (in Excel format) with some sample data for the graphing. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zy6s8zyyuwn5aj2/Aquarium%20Test%20Results%20Template%20V1.0%20-%20Blank.xlsx?dl=0 Link to comment

I was just feeding whatever whenever and ended up with a nutrient dense system and lots of algae. I'm just trying to avoid that without starving anything. Plus I have all of these different foods that for some reason or another thought I needed, so I want to be able to use them. Link to comment
Pjanssen
Really? I was sure more people would have opinions as to whether this was good or overkill. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to go with it and see what happens. Also want to point out that when I go on vacation, this is what I will leave for my tank sitter. Link to comment

I think am one of them. weekly regimen is currently as follows: Reef Chili 5-7 "spoons" (the super small reef chili supplied spoon that looks like the Ca+ test kit one) 10-15 spoons of Reef Roids 2-3 spoons of Coral Frenzy 20-30 medium Fauna Marine LPS pellets 5 drops of Real Ocean Eggs 3 drops of Oyster Eggs 3 drops Phyto Food 5 ml of Reef Fuel These are mixed in the reef chili mixing bottle with tank water and kept in the fridge and shaken and fed daily. 1 full bottle a week. Mixed one time a week. then I feed the clowns R.O.E. 1-2 drops daily. 3gal WC every 2 weeks, scrape glass whenever, floss once a week or longer... stable and going on over 2 years. granted I didn't start this heavy. Would your suggestion be to mix my foods together in one bottle and just feed daily? Makes sense. Link to comment

Makes sense. not necessarily, just more feeding. this saves me time and I have not noticed any bad things? heck, maybe even the bacteria and such get "gut loaded" as well with it all sitting in a bottle together for a week? Clown79
I feed a different food every other day and once a week reefroids. I like to keep things very simple Link to comment

I like to keep things very simple Feeding a different food every other day is pretty similar to what I've outlined. This way I can keep track of what I fed on what day. Simple is definitely good. I kind of like Rurals system of mixing everything together and feeding daily. Link to comment
CronicReefer
I think this post that was recently made in the Albert Thiel discussion shows how important feeding is to the health of the fish. Paul B. makes a lot of great points in his post relating to foods we feed fish and the health of their immune systems as well as their normal behaviors. I just noticed that your fishes' primary diet would be pellets not more "realistic" food. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/305180-the-official-ask-albert-thiel-thread/?p=5369989 Link to comment

Will read trough some of that thread. The fish though will also eat the LRS, Mysis & cyclopeze. As well as any fresh seafood that I feed (i.e. when we have fresh shrimp, scallops etc, they get some.)
