Squared
What kind of LEDs are those? Is this just a petco 40 de rimmed? Attempting to film it up sounds like an iffy endeavor to me. 1 Quote Link to comment
Odyssey350kc
This is awesome. It's exactly what I wanted to do when I started my tank, but I wimped out when it came to derimming the tank 1 Quote Link to comment

Already ran an extensive leak test while filled and I'm good. Just waiting to get it wet now. Quote Link to comment
RollaJase
If this turns out anything like your 20 long it will be stunning! Best of luck. Quote Link to comment

pablom617
Quick update: Added a few more pounds of LR to the display tank and I believe I'm getting close to the end of the cycle. I have had a diatom bloom come and go and the tank is trucking along great. I'll be leaving for the Bahamas in a couple days, when I get back I'll do a big water change and add a small CUC. I have also toyed with the idea of setting up a nuvo 10 in the office but more on that later. Quote Link to comment
markalot
How are you supporting the de-rimmed rim? The last guy that de-rimmed a 40 vanished without a trace. I suspect I know what happened. I don't think the glass is thick enough to support rimless and it will bow badly. Quote Link to comment

I'm not sure who you are referring to that disappeared but I will be sure to let you guys know if catastrophe strikes. Quote Link to comment
JulieReefer
So.... did the derimmed 40 last?! seems Pablo hasn’t been back since Sept 2016... might be a bad sign. Quote Link to comment
Steemax
Seems sketchy, my 40B had a mean bow to it after a few years and that was with the rim in tact, wouldn't dare to de-rim it. I hope it didn't end bad. 1 Quote Link to comment
pablom617
Sorry for dropping off without a trace. Tank didn’t burst, it was actually up for about a year and then I tore it down shortly after my daughter was born due to lack time. Hopefully his brings closure! Quote Link to comment
