title says it. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried it. hopefully carry on? to check a bag with the airline I'm flying with is more than what the store charges to ship the anemone.

You're going to be over the liquid amount. more so, if its outside this country, YOU WILL be fined A LOT of money. and face potential jail time.

its a domestic flight. Nonstop. Il figure out how to get it under 3.4 ounces.

Sure just not too much water.

And not cross country

would a 4 ounce specimen cup work? I heard it had to be factory makers on amount of water

You can get past security with more than 4oz of water but it has to be tested. Just make sure you carry it in a container where the agent can open it and take a water sample.

The best thing you can do is call the airline you are bringing the anemone on and talk to a supervisor at TSA, and explain you are bringing live corals, and ask what you can do to bring it on with you. This would be the safest route instead of relying on members to tell you the airline rules.

Don't leave it up to security whether or not he decides to throw your anemone out. Some of those guys hate their jobs and they won't care.

You could also consider checked luggage in a styro. This is how most do it coming from MACNA.

Carry on is risky... really depends if you get someone who hates their job or not and a lot of people who work at the airport seem to hate their jobs.

Checked luggage inside a cooler is the best way. People do this when coming home from MACNA: http://www.reefaddicts.com/entry.php/27621-Impulse-buying-when-you-have-to-fly-home

You can call the airline too and ask.

I might just do this, seems risky. i think i might just check one bag and put the anemones in that
