GotamaHuy
Hey guys I am finally starting to set up my tank. I was just wondering what other equipment I need to get to be ready. Not the actual tank, lights, or pumps, but little things such as salt, net, refractometer, or turkey baster. Things that make the hobby easier. I can try to put a final list together and edit this post so other newbies can see it as well. Thanks! Link to comment
tsinc
Reef Crystal (some kind of salt) Refractometer or hydrometer Some kind of test kit, I just use the API one Turkey Bastor - nice for feeding Airline tubing Vinyl tubing Lots of buckets and jugs for water Coral glue Something to make or treat water - RO/DI unit or Prime Net Tubaware for dipping/acclimating Extra heater and powerhead for mixing water for water changes Some rags or towels on deck Always good to have extra some bags of filter media in tank for bacteria to live in for emergency qt tanks or something Battery air pump and stone for emergency power outages Lots and lots of patience! Just some of the things that I use and need for my tank. Good luck with you tank! Link to comment
AZDesertRat
Number one is a good reef quality RO/DI system and ATC handheld TDS meter. Water is the single largest ingredient in a reef system and everything depends on its quality and it's stability. Without good water everything else is worthless. Link to comment
