Hi everybody! I'm new to reef keeping but have had freshwater tanks for a while now and have been itching to pull the trigger on a salt tank. Didn't want to start off with a big tank and thought the nano/pico tanks were a neat concept. Bought the tank in December of 2015 and had not got around to setting it up till about 5 weeks ago.

Thanks! Glad to be a member of a great community. I plan on it being mainly a softy tank with "maybe" a few LPS if i can find some that will work with this setup. Since the first post I have added a GSP, 1 Blue leg hermit, 1 scarlet hermit, 1 nassarius snail, 1cerith snail, 1 small turbo snail, 1 peppermint shrimp , and a springeri damsel.

I just purchased one of these tanks for my son. Anyone using a skimmer on this tank. I've seen the Mame Skimmer

I've been considering the MAME Skimmer, but right now I do weekly water changes and my nutrients stay really low. I also noticed that if I get lazy with my water changes the corals (soft) looked better.

Well I'm ditching the Evo for an IM Fusion 10 I picked up today. Was running out of room already. I'll be starting a new thread on that tank soon.

Oh sad to hear! I just picked up a Spec V and the SB Reeflights Sprite nano! Going to be a SPS dominate tank.

I recall seeing you got the same light? What did you start the intensity off at? I guess a par meter would be in order, but I'll start low and pay attention closely to the corals. I'm more of a fan of the 20k look so I'll be heavy on that side. However, it's a powerful light, so I'll definitely be careful.

Cheers!
