isaacharry
so i started a new tank with ONLY dry rock (two pieces of live rock about two pounds each for coraline ) and i want to know how long for it to become live? All my inverts are fine and have been for a month, now the dry rock is getting brown, and has clearish bubbles on it... Link to comment
sprite
I'd say 4 to 6 weeks to fully develope the new bacteria in/on them Link to comment
smeagol108
Yea normally four to six weeks is key. I transferred tanks and put all my old live rock in and all new dry rock. About five weeks in I removed all the old live Rock and just left the new dry rock. Everything was fine without skipping a beat. Link to comment
squamptonbc
With bacteria within 6 weeks generally, but for other life forms, longer and you may need to seed the dry with some really good live rock to get some of the other living creatures some desire. Link to comment
