kylekruko85
Bought about 4-5 head Duncan coral the other day. Are the knots in the tentacles caused by something? Or is it normal? Link to comment
nickkohrn
Bought about 4-5 head Duncan coral the other day. Are the knots in the tentacles caused by something? Or is it normal? What is the flow like in that area of the tank? Have you measured your water parameters recently? Have you changed your lighting any? It's kind of difficult to tell from the photo what the issue could be. You might have better luck determining the issue with a little more information about your tank and any recent changes. kylekruko85
Flow is moderate. Just to be clear. The knots were already on the tentacles when I bought it. Its only been in my tank for 2 days now. Its seems happy, opened up after being in my tank for about 8-12 hours. I am just curious if the knots are caused by something or if its normal. My parameters are all normal. This isn't a case were the coral looked fine when I bought it and I am seeing something different now, its always been this way. Link to comment
IronChefItaly
Good chance those knots are just inherent of duncans collected from a particular geographical location. Mainly just watch for less extension, tissue damage and anything that seems to coat the surface of the coral. Link to comment
jamescstein
It looks fine. My duncan's tentacles are knotted and kinky. Some even fork. Link to comment
fishfreak0114
Mine sometimes gets "bubbly" almost, the tentacles vary in thickness throughout. Link to comment
