well, there are only 2 options..

either it was eaten by an RFA? which i suppose is possible...

or it jumped, and was quickly consumed by this:

which is highly probable (notice the girth of this highly specialized predator)

oddly, my whole cuc was scattered around the tank and not honed in on one spot

I haven't heard of RFA's eating decent sized fish.. so a jumper is my thought

the dog all ways looks guilty though... probably because she usually is

Hard to say, it wouldn't take long for a CUC to dispose of a fish that size, I bet less than an hour easy. They are jumpers too though and dogs are good at finding fish... and rolling on it too if its old.

ok, ok... look at her! does she look like she would rather roll in food than eat it?

that fish died on first bounce.

ONLY if its old and super smelly, special doggy perfume, at least that is what my golden retriever thinks about dead fish on the beach lol

I had a bi colour blenny disappear over night. It died in its rock. The next day my pom pom crab dragged him out- not much left.

Clean up crews can clean up pretty quickly.
