Best nano skimmer

I'm using the Tunze 9001 for my IM20 and it works very well. It's a wetter skim though - but I think most nano skimmers will be.

That is what I am doing. I haven't been pleased with the selection of skimmers and the overall reviews so just doing more frequent water changes for now.

If I can ever score a Aqua C Remora Nano, I'll go for that one as I never had issues in the past with those skimmers.

Best nano skimmer is a water change :D

Depends on the tank, for my 10 and my 40 I have the IM ghost(1 desktop and 1 midsize) and those work for me great(they are the noisiest piece of equipment I own though) and the 4 gallon in my room is water change only

If I had an external sump, I would have gone with the Ice Cap, from what I have seen they work really well.

For the space I have, the Aqua C Nano of what is available appears to be the best fit for me. But anything has to be better then the POS stock skimmer Fluval has...lol...

I had the normal size Aqua C Remora 7 or so years ago and always found it worked well, and did it's job, never failed, and kept me happy. I personally like the Aqua C's but they seem to be not so popular anymore.

i think it's because they are bulky and like you said have kind of died out but they are one of the top skimmers IMO, kinda wish I had saved the money and kept mine and just hung it in my sump but idk how efficient that would have been lol

The Ice Cap K2-50 has a tiny footprint (4.75″ x 3.5″) and it'll probably fit in many AIO tanks. I'm planning on picking one up when my current skimmer craps out.

I still have my Aqua C Remora. It's loud, giant, and totally not sexy looking but it did skim like a beast. I still have it sitting in my fish closet lol. I thought about converting it into an in-sump skimmer like the Urchin Series if I ever have a sump.

I have an IM30L and I run a Tunze 9001 in the return chamber. It wasn't custom made for that, but I got it to work with Stevie T's help.

Because of the way I'm running it, it isn't always the quietest set up, but it pulls the gunk. When I get the energy, I'm going to move my return pump all the way to one side and keep the skimmer on the other to cut down on vibration.

It's the 19" height that is the issue which would make it very visible and hard to hide.

Based on measurements I think it would technically fit okay, just it's so tall. Even if I added a sump to the stand below its too tall...lol

Nobody around here sells the Ice Cap so I can only go by what photos online show and what online US retailers show.

Doesn't help we only have 1 saltwater store in the region which carries only a small line of specific products. Lack of demand it seems these days for salt stuff.

Lol, I did that sound reducing mod before but it's still quite loud compared to my current skimmer (Bubble Magus QQ).

Yea, the 19" height does scare me a bit too lol. My tank is 10" tall AIO tank and I can't imagine how much water it'll use when it's on.

You can always email Ice Cap for Canadian distributors.

The Ice cap wouldn't work in the back of of a IM tank would it? The ice caps appear to be in sump only. I cant really regulate the water height in the back of the IM 30L compartment.
