I have had this in my tank for two weeks now. I added a few Peppermint shrimp from reeftopia that were advertised to eat and they wont' touch it and I tried aiptasia x on it and nothing happened. None of these things have are on my live rock but there are man (~100) on the back of my tank and on the overflow.

These things are really small (about 1/4 of an inch) have very fragile tentacles and I can't make out any disk or anything. They haven't spread to my rock at all and only a few have been seen on the substrate.

I'm not sure what we are looking at here. The things in the first photo look like sponges of some sort and/or pods. Do they move? Not sure what to look for in the second photo.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was able to get a picture of some of them against my glass using my hand lens. Maybe this can help? Also they don't appear to have any kind of stalk and there is no reaction if anything swims by or if I touch them.

Definitely not aiptasia - second photo looks like GHA - first photo like some sort of either sponge thing or algae.

I didn't think to look at it with the hand lens. Upon doing so, it looks like it is definitely a plant of some kind.

On another note, I just looked in my refugium and noticed this:

I'm pretty sure this is aiptasia in my refugium.
