Since we introduced our surface skimmers for the AquaClear HOB filters a few months ago, we have received many requests for other models. As demanded, today we bring you the AC50 version in addition to the AC70/AC110 version line up.

It's time to steer clear of surface scums build up and make the best out of your AquaClear HOB filter. Drop-in Installation is as easy as it gets and hold firmly our enclosed 100% waterproof magnets system. Your beautiful fishes and corals will thank you!

I see on the site where a ATO is recommended inside of the box to keep the filter from running dry, any input one one that will fit in the AC50 or 70 units?

II believe he recommended the AutoAqua Smart ATO Micro

He's correct! The Smart ATO Micro penny size sensor is a perfect fit inside the overflow box. Usually the float switch type mount of an ATO system is too big for this particular setup.

These are awesome!!!

Thank you :) Looking forward to seeing more of these being used in a full featured reef tank.

can the magnet for the sensor stay underwater? or is there another way to mount the sensor inside the overflow box?

Hey JR,

I'm 99% sure it can or you can purchase one of my plastic sealed magnet.

Im new to the forum and just got the aquaclear 110 for my 8.6 gallon ADA 60f. I will be setting it up soon and would like one of the overflow boxes for it so i can surface skim but i believe the tank is only 7 or 8" tall. What are the dimensions for the overflow box? Is it too tall for the shallow depth of the ADA 60f?

Welcome to Nano-Reef!! Glad you made it here, this is a very active reefing community!

Our overflow box would be a perfect fit for that tank. It's about 5.25" tall. You're not going to be using any of the extra extension tubes, just the U-Tube so it will be a very clean install.
