New update added different protein skimmer aquamaxx hob-1. Works good but when I clean it outo during water change recently, it went crazy with bubbles and ended up haveing to put valve to adjust air down for 12hrs. Have minimal to no microbubbles in dp.

Ya hoping emerald crab helps keep it in control useing ro/di water not sure what's feeding it. Switched to weekly water changes hopefully it helps.

I had an emerald, didn't touch the stuff.

I have been doing massive waterchanges, low feedings, 1 fish, vacuum gravel, even removed some sand. i have a ton of flow in my tank too.

I physically remove it now. I used ro water and switched to distilled.

Since physically removing it and using phosguard, i hsve seen an improvement

You can use phosguard without a reactor or chemipure elite which come pre bagged.

The better bng for your buck is buying a good carbon and phosguard and putting it in media bags, chemipure elite and blue gets costly.

BRS has a sale on there mini reactors so I bought one and the carbon + GFO. Phosphates have been reading 0.25 for couple weeks with Chemi-pure Elite. Hoping that's the cause of the hair algae.
