Sal10104
just as the title says, What was your first ever fish? mine was a bangaii cardinal. i still have him. he is now about 2.5 years old. i would try to get a picture but he always sits either in one of my sea urchins or behind my rocks Link to comment
Hammerstone
An Occey Misbar, Orange. Got him as a juvenile, and he's a woman now, lol. I had her two years alone and got her a mate, a black misbar Occey, and he's about a year in my tank, so total I've had my first Occey for 3 years. Her name is Bob lol. I read somewhere that they can live twenty something years in captivity. That's so cool. So they are just babies, and spawn regularly. ? Link to comment
squamptonbc
Domino damsel way back in the 90's when I was a teenager. Scratch that, first one was actually dwarf sea horses, back then (no idea now) you could order them through the mail, various magazines would have ads for them. I kept those for a year or so and ended up with some babies that I sold to the pet store. Domino was technically the 2nd fish then...lol... This was all back in like 93/94. Link to comment

Mariaface
My parents kept goldfish when I was four. My first fish was a betta in a 5 gallon tank that lived about 3 years until I learned that your tap water can introduce the cause of dropsy. Now my freshwater tank is also done with RO/DI, but with Equilibrium added. (First saltwater fish were a pair of black and white oscellaris that were way too small to have been shipped) Link to comment

I had the beautiful foresight to go on vacation a month after they arrived, and the roommates did not stop in to look at the tank, much less feed them. They developed lateral line, and I spent months reversing it. Then my glass lid shattered and the little one jumped, but the bigger one is still here (biting my hand every chance she gets). Under a lid, of course. Link to comment

Lived for a long long time, most of my childhood. Love the chromies, wife hates them. Very active and under the right light.... The way they kinda change color. I've had great sucess with this hardy species. Nothing special but awesome fish imo Link to comment
