Starting off with only frags on a egg crate rack for easy maintenance. Water changes are done at least once a week and I manually dose a little calcium. All the frags with fun names are from battlecorals. Plan is for this to remain a fishless system. I'll try to post pictures regularly to log their growth assuming the tank doesn't crash Kicking it off with a pic of the snazzy nanobox and poor man stag Link to comment

infy
Sorry for the lack of updates. Tank went into flux 2 weeks ago after I decided to experiment with oyster feast dosing. Didn't expect 5 drops of that stuff to be so potent but long story short, I managed to horribly spike the water. Woke up 2 days later with sky high ammonia/nitrate/nitrite and a very unhappy tank. Stabilized the water after several water changes over the next few days but the damage was done. Everything browned out and RTN'd within 3 days with the exception of the battlestag, the grapejuice, and ironically a $5 unknown brown stick picked up a while ago. As of now, the battlestag has fully recovered in color and is growing steadily. Grapejuice is sadly brown but with green hues returning. Bought the brownout with zero polyp extension but it's showing a lot of promise now. Zoa frag sprouted a new head or two. I've also got a maricultured millepora mini colony that's happily sitting as the centerpiece. I'll snap some new tank shots on Friday after my 2nd Koralia and HOB filter comes in! FYI for anyone interested in buying this tank: the AIO filtration included is flaming, hot garbage that rattles, clicks, and has very weak flow. You also cannot fit any other pico/nano pump in there because the slot is somehow smaller than the fluval spec. Cleaning and oiling the propeller only fixes the problem for a solid 5 minutes. Wouldn't recommend this product as I've managed to replaced every piece of equipment aside from the tank itself Link to comment
tarunteam
What's your maintenance routine? I want ot get some SPS in my tank too, just working on getting all my parmas ready. Link to comment
infy
I do a 30% water change weekly that takes about 1 hour to complete. Test all params while I wait for water to mix. I use 2 part dosing on the new water, matching salinity / kH in order to keep my calcium levels up. Daily top off with distilled water since I like to take the cover off the tank. If you're keeping such a small tank like mine, I just wouldn't add any fish at all. Balancing act of keeping the fish well fed and water clean will be too much to keep SPS. Only thing that changes regularly is my calcium. Make sure you have plenty of indirect, random flow where you place the SPS. Planning on bumping my turnover rate to 100x when my 2nd koralia arrives in the mail. Good luck on your tank! Link to comment
Reefkid88
That sounds about right for weekly duties, when I had my 2 gallon slammed full of sps I was doing 50% water changes, but it was only a 2 gallons of water to keep clean as well lol but I was also running a Gnome glass skimmer as well as a AC50 with a 70 impeller with carbon and gfo and all went well until I ran my Zeovite experiment lol. Was everything fres cut or healed? Link to comment
infy
Haha I think it's safe to say keeping it simple is best. Never ran into problems except when I'm fiddling with dosing. All of my frags were fresh cut at the time but encrusting when disaster struck. I'll probably have to pick up on water changes when the frags get bigger but they're not using too much calcium at the moment. Is your tank coral only reefkid? Link to comment
