Hey guys,

The year has been flying by and things are continuing to ramp up. The overall feedback of the NanoBox units has been incredible and I strive to make things better over here.

NanoBox Moves! :

I have been working out of my house/shop for years and it finally took its toll. I was becoming weird and stir crazy. I needed a change scenery and to be around people. I wanted to find a small office or shared office that was close by but also affordable. After looking around I landed the dream location. Only 1.8 miles from my house and in a renovated mill building. This place is gorgeous and I can finally feel good about meeting people in person! The new office is my main office however I will still do some metal prep work in the shop. They let me move in early and we are still building the new office out. We have a reclaimed piece of wood that will be my work bench and we just finished hanging new industrial lights over head. Then adding white metal peg board to hold preassembled units and tools. This is such a breathe of fresh air and I already have been more productive this week ( with things still all over ) then I ever was at the old shop. As well brewery's, food, coffee roasters and condos are all being built.

Shared Suite. There are five others that are rarely here.

New Gooseneck Clamp :

After feedback from others I needed a clamp that is universal. My machinist and I went to the drawing board and came up with a great solution. This will work on tanks up to 1" thick. Included will be a small spacer that is adjustable for 99% of tanks. The spacer is PVC board and the clamp is aluminum that is powder coated black.

First Part Time Employee :

A family friend had a son that is looking to be an electrical engineer and wanted a part time gig. I jumped right away and will be having Bradley work 8-12 hours a week to help me out. He will be soldering boards, making cables, assembling some units and dropping/shipping packages. This is a HUGE deal for me so I can focus on growing NBR. He will be starting the next two weeks!

QUAD W :

With a handful in the wild I now feel confident about releasing the new Quad W. I am aiming for a Sept 1st ship date and will be putting a special pre-order price up in the coming weeks.

Specs :

  • 12"x8"x.75" Body

  • Five Channel Dimming

  • Standard NBR colors

  • Hanging Kit and Legs Only.
    • Legs will be ~ $50

  • Bluefish or Apex Ready

  • $725 MAP

New Anodzing Color's :

I have been working hand and hand with my local anodizer. The finish and color looks amazing and they are now doing special colors for me. I will be doing small runs of colors and can do custom colors for $75.

Current colors

  • Black

  • Grey

  • Red

  • Blue

  • Teal/Blue

  • Orange

  • Purple

  • Gold

Color that I am looking at...

  • Pink

  • Green

  • Tan

Apex Ready :

With the growing popularity of the Neptune's APEX system I needed to have an option for people. Aaron ( O2 ) designed a simple drop in board that works seamless with the APEX system. The only issue is the adaptor will only work with the regular/Plus models due to the limit of channels on a standard APEX. The plus side is you can save some serious cash choosing this instead of the Bluefish. I just shipped a Duo off to be officially " Apex Ready ".

  • Tide APEX - $265

  • Tide Plus APEX - $289.95

  • Duo APEX - $379.95

  • Duo Plus APEX - $399.95

  • Quad APEX - $660.00

  • Quad Plus APEX - $675.00

Awesome expansion! For the "Apex Ready" units you will need to get the Apex VDM module?

I am wondering this as well

Depends on how you use your Apex. Both Apex and Apex Classic have the two 1-10v ports built in. But if these are already being used then a VDM is needed.

Awesome work Dave. Good call on the adjustable clamp!

Thanks! Also will make my life easier with having to do orders based on clamp styles.

What about the new Apex Wifi controller that has been announced? Will it work with it out of the box?

Awesome Dave!!!! Can't wait to get my Ati retro from you. Man that anodized teal looks nice, bet it would look sweet on a 60" Ati, is that possible??

Are the retro's apex ready or still bluefish?

Correct, the Apex and Apex Classic have four channels of 1-10v out of the box. So you can hook directly to this.

That's awesome Dave! I wish I could afford my own workshop/office separated from home in the future. For now, im just going to admire your success...congrats!

But that will occupy the 2 connectors available on the Apex, isn't it? What if I only have 1 connector available (planning to use the other one to control a Jebao wavemaker pump with a DIY cable)? What are the options? The Duo Apex (not the Duo Plus Apex) uses 1 port only?

Wow, congrats on all your accomplishments . Units are stepping it up more and more as your company grows. Pretty soon you will need a warehouse :).

Hopefully you can get it set for plus M and have it upgradeable, I would go for an Apex at some point. Congrats on stepping up <3

That's definitely an option, but the VDM module costs $100. Buying the Bluefish (or controlling the Jebao pumps using a JBWave) then become options to consider.

Still want to know if the 2 channel duo apex uses only 1 VDM port on the Apex.

David!! I'm honored to be a very small but continuing part of your success story. You are proof that good guys do finish 1st. Forrest

Thanks bud. It is a step in the right direction and will push me to do better. Knowing I have to pay myself and add a new lease will get me pushing harder than ever.

It really depends on the system you invest in. Going Bluefish will only allow for LED control. Going Apex will allow for anything you can think of. The Duo will only use one port, correct!

Thanks bud and thanks for supporting NBR for so long.
