Sherman
Hi need all the help to build a new led light set Each array has 20 leds and 3 channel Channel 1 has 8 warm white 3 watt type ssc led Channel 2 has 8 royal blue 3 watt type ssc led Channel 3 has 4 uv 405 nm 3 watt type led Will be running at 1 watt for each channel. What driver and controller will you recomend? Thank You Link to comment
Horerczy
Need more information about the LEDs. I.E. brand, led family, where you're purchasing from if nothing else. Also 405 mm isn't UV. It's True Violet (though part of the output will be in the UV range). UV starts Sub 400nm Link to comment
evilc66
Driver: Meanwell LDD350-H Driver Board: O2Surplus or similar LDD carrier board Power Supply: 36-48v @ 1.5A or greater Controller: Bluefish Mini (will require a 5-12v DC supply also) Link to comment
Sherman
Hi Horerczy, I am using SSC Z5M2 warm white with high CRI 90+ and royal blue. UV using 405nm and 45 or 120 degrees viewing angle. CUN06B1B and CUN06A1B SSC is Seoul Semiconductor Hi evilc66, Thank You for your recomendation. Where can I get all the items? Link to comment
evilc66
If you can swing the international shipping, LED Group Buy has everything you need. Link to comment

Sherman
I fabricate this board with my friend's help This is one module . Contain 4 custers of 5 led. 2 warm white, 2 royal blue and 1 uv(violet) Another photo of the led board The module is design with 3 different channel. Each channel is one color of led. But the connector allow you to connect all led as one single circuit or 3 different circuit Link to comment

evilc66
Just going to warn you, this is going to look kinda purple (warm white and royal blue mix). What's this being used for? Link to comment
Sherman
Hi evilc66, This is for reef tank use. Warm white with royal blue will give me purple? Then should I change one of the Royal Blue to Deep blue in order to give me the blue effect Or should I change the warm white to natural white or cool white Link to comment
Sherman
Driver: Meanwell LDD350-H Driver Board: O2Surplus or similar LDD carrier board Power Supply: 36-48v @ 1.5A or greater Controller: Bluefish Mini (will require a 5-12v DC supply also) Hi evil66, If I am connecting 4 modules to form a light set. I will have Channel 1 has 32 warm white 3 watt type ssc led Channel 2 has 32 royal blue 3 watt type ssc led Channel 3 has 16 uv 405 nm 3 watt type led (if I choose to run 3 separate channels.) Will be running at 1 watt for each channel. I like to know: 1. Can 1 Driver: Meanwell LDD350-H run 32 led 2. And is the Power Supply: 36-48v @ 1.5A or greater enough or I need higher voltage Thank You Link to comment

evilc66
Hi evilc66, This is for reef tank use. Warm white with royal blue will give me purple? Then should I change one of the Royal Blue to Deep blue in order to give me the blue effect Or should I change the warm white to natural white or cool white Going with a shorter wavelength blue will only make matters worse. Think about it. Warm whites don't have much blue content, but lots of yellow and red. When you mix blue and red, you get purple, so it's not that far of a stretch to think that a red heavy white combined with royal blue will create a purple tint. Really, what you should be doing is balancing the spectrum. Adding in blue (470nm), cyan (490nm) and lime (broad spectrum green) will give you better overall color rendering, as well as getting rid of the purple tint. Using a higher CCT white will help, but unless you go into very high CCT (6500K and up), low CRI whites, you will have to add other colors to get rid of the purple tint. Hi evil66, If I am connecting 4 modules to form a light set. And is the Power Supply: 36-48v @ 1.5A or greater enough or I need higher voltage Thank You 14-15 LEDs are the max you can run in series on an LDD driver with a 48v power supply. You can run multiple strings in parallel (4 strings of 8 in series would work for the whites and blues, 2 strings of 8 for the violets), but the driver would have to be higher current so that each LED is still seeing the desired current (parallel strings divide the source current equally between themselves). Parallel wiring is not generally preferred. There's nothing stopping you from running multiple drivers on a single controller channel though, so you can add as many drivers as you like to accommodate the number of LEDs you want to run. Sherman
Thank You evilc66 for the very clear description on the purple effect and how to remove it. Temporarily I will take note and get some 470nm blue, cyan and lime led. As for the wiring part. I will have 4 string of white , so 4 drivers for white 4 string of blue, so 4 drivers for blue 2 string of violet , so 2 drivers. Total I use 10 drivers for the 80 leds channel 1 of controller run 4 drivers of white channel 2 of controller run 4 drivers of blue and channel 3 of controller run 2 driver of violet 10 pcs of 350 mA drivers I use 24 v 5A DC power supply is it ok? evilc66
I would go with a 36v power supply over 24v. You would only be able to run 8 LEDs in series on a 24v supply if the forward voltage was EXACTLY 3v each, and there were no drivers. The LDD drivers require a few volts of overhead to operate properly, and LEDs are never going to all be 3v on the nose. A 36v power supply will give you a little breathing room in that regard, and the drivers will still be operating at greater than 95% efficiency. 5A will be fine even with the 36v supply.
