Reef crystals and Ca

Hey guys I have a question I just got my hanna calcium checker and I keep getting 520ppm for Ca could this be possible? I do not dose I was planning on it till now all my livestock grows well I just couldn't figure out if this seemed right I did the test 3 times and get the same result within 2ppm or so.. Also my alk reads 7.6 with the hanna something is wrong can anyone point me in the direction maybe thanks

 

 

Tank approx 10 gallon

1.024

Nitrate 0

Ca 520

Alk 7.6

Temp 78

Phosphate .9 or .059 don't remember sorry

Mag i don't have a way to test yet sorry

 

Any other info needed please lmk thanks a million in advance

Some people don't like using the Hanna Calcium Checker, but I'd guess that result is probably pretty close to accurate. I assume this is from your tank and not newly mixed saltwater. Test a newly mixed batch of water and see what you get.

 

Looks like your alkalinity has been dropping.

Yes this is my tank I will test a new batch when I get home I'm just curious why don't people like the Hanna checker I have three now for nothing lol? Also could you tell me what test I could use?

I use, and like, Hanna's ULR Phosphorus and Alkalinity Checkers. I just haven't read many rave reviews about their calcium checker, so I haven't tried it. I use Salifert's Calcium test kit.

Using RC, I'm surprised that your dKH is so low. Usually alk and ca are pretty high with RC? That's why I switched from RC to another salt mix (Salinity by Aquavitro) myself.
