Thegreat1
Looking to raise the Alk and Calcium in my Nuvo 10 gallon tank. Alk is 7dKH and Calcium is 380. I would like to be around 9dKH and 420 on the calcium. I have been using a seachem 2 part system. Fusion 1 and Fusion 2. I have been adding 2ml of each for the past week and my levels have not changed. 10lbs live rock 1 1/2 crushed coral bed 1 Nano Hydor 1 Media reactor with GFO 1 Frag SPS coral 2 Frag LPS coral 2 nassarius snails 2 astrea snails Temp: 78 Salinity: 1.024 PH: 8.2 Ammonia: 0 Nitrates: 0 Nitrites: 0 Phosphate: 0 Alk: 7dKH Calcium: 380 Weekly 1 gallon water changes Filter floss and carbon in the media basket Link to comment
mystersyster
Can you calculate how much you need to get up to 420? That's only a 40 jump, and I think you'd be safe to do that all at once. It's typically recommended (at least by BRS) to not raise it by more than 50ppm per day. Good luck! Oh! And no more than 1 dkh per day as well. I would do .5 personally to give you room for error. ml86743
What I would do is let the tank sit for a day. Test firs twithout dosing anything then test at the same time tomorrow. That should give you an idea of how much you need to maintain your current levels. After you're in the ballpark you can adjust accordingly to begin to raise your parameters. Just be slow with it. 2ml seems like the recommended dosage for a 10G, so you might have to use a little more in order to raise them. Link to comment
