Upside down MP10

I'm a new MP 10 owner with a question.

The instructions say to secure the dry side cord in an up position using the sticky mount but I don't see why it couldn't be in any position. In my particular application, I don't want the cord sticking up in plain sight so I was thinking about facing it downward. Does anyone see a problem with this other than Ecotechs label being upside down Hahah.

Yup rfalk is right. I have mine with the cord going down but the wire travels down and horizontal plus a drip loop.

The water traveling is true but it is actually to prevent the mp10 from dropping. If anything ever bumps it, those sticky pads that cane in the box zip tie to the cord to prevent it from swinging down and either breaking or cracking your glass. That being said I live life on the edge and run my cord straight down because it is easier to grab it that way how my tank is positioned on the wall.

I run all my cords down without problem, I just put the sticky zip tie close to the MP10 so it can't fall far enough to cause any damage.

Upward cord prevents water from running down the cord.

Me too for years and no problems.

Thanks to everyone for replying. I'll run it downward and tie the cord right near it. I have a shallow tank (only 10.5") and I don't want the cord showing up over the rim.

Think it's also something to do with keeping the dry and wet sides inline. The weight of the dry side means it can slip down and then go out of alignment with the wet side ruining the unit. They really don't like to be run when not lined up right.
