Hammerstone
Ok, so it's my understanding that the salt in our aquarium never changes quantity and that's why we top off with fresh. I just woke up so this might not make sense. What is salt creep? We don't knock it back into our aquariums, we clean it up. Not understanding this morning? This probably sounds really dumb. dandelion
Unless you have a ridiculous amount of salt creep that little loss of salt should be negligible. You can measure the salinity of your tank every time before water change and add just a tad more salt into your change water to compensate. But you're probably talking about 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of salt a week. That said I do knock the salt back into my tank LOL. Just gotta make sure it won't land on any corals. Link to comment
Hammerstone
Yeah it's not a lot unless I let it accumulate lol. I thought it was bad to put it back into the tank for some reason lol. I've just wondered about it off and on. Link to comment
Clown79
Salt creep is the hardened salt on surfaces like the tank trim, on filter, etc. Its from salt spray or water spillage/drips. Its literally the crystalization of the salt. Its not advised to put it back into the tank. Wipe it off carefully. Link to comment

Clown79
It will burn the corals if it lands on them. Link to comment
jamescstein
I just toss it in my ATO container. That way to dissolves again over time and isn't dropped on anything. Link to comment
dandelion
I just flush it down with my top off water. Usually they stick on to my tank pretty good that the top off water dissolves it down instead of flushing the entire piece of salt into the tank. Link to comment
