NaCl(s)+H2O(l)

Hello! Newby here and after getting my spec III tank set up I picked up a second piece of like rock from a LFS I happened to be near. It looked like it had several empty/broken shells on it but when I got it home and rinsed/put in the tank one shell moved! Im guessing its some kind of clam/mollusk but don't know which. He looks like he is facing the rock but he is stuck to it good. sorry for the iPhone pic but he is the shell in the middle. Also, will he survive the cycle and if not how do I remove him? Thanks for any info!

thanks that pile of rock is encrusted with a few different mollusk species, the shell that youre pointing to is a scallop, im betting that the shell is empty but loose, try pulling it out

Thank you! I never noticed it until I got home. I have been noticing several "things" on the rock moving that I can't ID. I am sure it is alive because if I bump it I can se the shell close tightly and it goes from loose on the rock to extremely tight. If it is unlikely to survive I would like to remove it but I'm not sure if the act of removing it will kill it.
