Saving waste water on RO/DI systems...

I'm currently running an RO/DI RO BUDDY system and I had a thought to repurpose the "waste water" from this system and not just to feed my garden (which I don't have).

The question is.... Could I make a Y connector from my laundry tap that would get both direct water from laundry hose line, and also return the so called waste water on the same line, while creating a continuous loop that yields 100% RO/DI water? My assumption would make me think that this would be genius, but you know what can happen when you assume things and are self proclaimed :)

Would there be any dangers to changing the waste water line back into the feed?

You don't want any back pressure on the RO/DI waste line.

Do you have a top fill washer? If so just have the waste line drain into the washer. Fill with clothes, turn on, and it will only add as much water as it needs to finish filling the washer.

There are low and no waste water units, you'd probably want to go that route. I've tried to find a use for waste water by just running the waste line into my waster then doing a load of towels or something. Unfortunately my washer removes standing water if you don't use it quickly :(

The simple answer is no, you cannot do that. Low waste systems only work if you have softened water and low tap TDS, otherwise you foul the membrane since it it the waste that carries the concentrated brine away from the RO membrane.
