swaefa
Currently I have a Red Sea Reefer Nano tank. The tank does come with a sump, but as you can imagine there is not much room. I would like to have a refugium for biological filtration and pod growth. I have seen numerous recommendations for hang on refugiums and chaeto reactors. I was wondering if a second sump would work. If anyone has done this, can you share how it was configured? Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
Yes! Anything you can do to increase your water volume and biological process is going to be beneficial! Some people have display macro algae tanks tied into their display tanks and use the sump for equipment only. Link to comment

masterbuilder
I dont care much for the HOB fuges especially on your RS Nano. It would really spoil the sleek look, plus I dont think they have the volume to do much of anything anyway. If you Google "plumbing a separate refugium", you can see dozens of examples on how its done. Sent you an IM on another way to figure it out as well. Link to comment
gus6464
Dual sump is quite common nowadays. The sickest sump setup I have seen consisted of this AA setup. http://advancedacrylics.com/collections/sumps/products/new-item-pvc-hybrid-acrylic-combo-sump-ato-reservoir-and-refugium Link to comment

swaefa
I totally agree the reefer is pretty sleek and a hang on refugium would take away from the look. The current sump is only 7 gallons. By the time I fit a skimmer and a return pump there is not a lot of room left. Masterbulder thanks for the IM. Link to comment
