ReefSafeSolutions
I happened to see this guy cruising around on my sand the other day. I managed to catch it and bag it so I could get a picture and keep it away from the tank, should it end up being a bad worm. It's about an inch long, you can see it in the bottom left corner of the bag here: Any idea what it could be, and if it's safe? Link to comment
tsouth
If it were me - If you have to ask, better to be safe and remove it. Don't risk it! Link to comment
ReefSafeSolutions
That's typically my approach...it looked like it was eating algae or something off the sand so I wanted to be sure anyways. Not to mention it would just be cool to get an ID on this sucker! Link to comment
LadyBryozoa
Hard to tell, but it could be a ribbon/proboscis worm (Phylum Nemertea). In the first picture it does look like it has an extended proboscis. They move kind of like flatworms, but are long, skinny, and have a proboscis which they use to feed. Most are predators so to be safe I would recommend removing it. Link to comment
