The plan is to keep it pretty simple and go back to basics.

Hardware

Tank: AquaMaxx 12L

Filtration: OceanBox Designs drop in filter kit

Lighting: AquaMaxx 36" NemoLight

Flow: Jebao RW-4

Controller: RKL

Heater: Cobalt NEOTherm 75Watt

ATO: Smart ATO Micro modded(http://blog.marinedepot.com/2016/04/the-autoaqua-smart-ato-micro-with-a-diy-twist.html?m=1)

Coral

Everything that was in my 34 that has been sitting the the garage frag tank for the past couple months. I actually managed to kill off the algae on the frags.

Lots of Zoas

Lps

Maybe some Sps soon

Fish and Inverts:

Clown Pair

Spotted Mandarin "OJ"

Skunk cleaner shrimp "Scampy"

May add a couple more small fish like gobies after a little while

I'm curious about the DIY mod to the smart ATO. I've got the same ATO and while the pump is a little overpowered for a pico tank I didn't really see anything wrong with it. Can you talk about what you're going to accomplish with the mod?

I just personally didnt like the idea of being tied down to a water pump. This was due to it having to be submersed and also the power of the pump. Longevity and reliability also were factors. Swapping the pump out for a peristaltic or diaphragm allows you to have a less powerful and more precise flow. Also, I dont have to sumerge the pump which allows you to use any container you want. I use a slim line container that has a small mouth that even the small size of the included pump would not have worked. I also feel that the perastaltic pump should be more reliable and will last longer. If it does die on me, it will be easy to swap out for a new one

Interested to see how that Nemo light performs... following.

I will be posting a 2 part review of borh the tank and light on Marine Depot blog. I will post the links here once they are released.

We need some pics of the tank cleared up. Lol I think we're all wanting to see it.

Yeah, it's not too late to rinse up that sand and flush all the dust out. I wish I'd done that when I started my tank.

That makes sense. I didn't even think about the possibility of being able to place the pump outside the container since it's peristaltic. Duh...

I'll remember this for a future build fingerscrossed

I moved my fish over a couple nights ago and started adding some coral from the frag tank last night. Here is the rest of the pics.

Enjoy....

The scape is awesome,i feel like the left island could move a smidge to the center maybe 2-3" but all in all id say its perfect man. The light, tank and the whole set up are grade a. Too bad im not down the road anymore,id love to see it

Thanks bro. I was originally going to do 3 islands but i love the simplicity of this scape. My wellso will be filling the gap between the 2 islands when I transfer it. We'll defintiely have to get together to do that frag trade soon so maybe then?
