Tks056
I have a huge bubble algae problem. I was gone for three days and when I came home it was everywhere. It doesn't look like all the pics I have seen of bubble algae but there are clear bubbles all over most of my rock and on the back wall of my tank a biocube 14. Any suggestions Link to comment
ReefWeeds
A photo would help. Bubble algae is green - could be clear green. What do you mean when you say clear? (It can also be red) Link to comment
Tks056
I am not sure how to post pics on here. Link to comment

SunWyrm
Not bubble algae, bubble algae is much bigger (like grapes). Idk what's causing your bubbles, but they look pretty normal. Hopefully someone else will chime in soon. Link to comment
natalia_la_loca
Looks to me like diatoms. Diatoms produce bubbles sometimes. Link to comment
Reefer69
Looks to me like diatoms. Diatoms produce bubbles sometimes. Yeah thats looks about right. Sometimes detritus filled algae produces bubbles like that as well. Link to comment
ReefWeeds
Looks to me like diatoms. Diatoms produce bubbles sometimes. Agree. I dealt with that in my 12 after I cycled it and thought I had dinos. Ended up just being a bad case of diatoms. Link to comment
Tks056
So then snails and time and everything should be good. Link to comment
Pinner Reef
That would be my suggestion... It's either the algae or a bacteria bloom that is expelling gases. Wait it out and maybe add a cuc. Link to comment
cberglof
Looks like a low flow issue. Get a good power head like a Jebao, or MP10 and I bet your problem clears. Link to comment
Elizabeth94
I agree, looks like diatoms. Looks like you have a lot of bubbles in the water though, are you running an air pump or something? New skimmer? If you are using an air pump, shut it off. No need for one as long as you have good water movement on the surface. Air build up on the bottom of live rock may cause problems with bacteria. Link to comment
Tks056
No air pump but I havery the stick pump that came with the tank in there. I have read that maxi jet 1200 is what I should get or is a small powerhead better? Link to comment
