Nixperience
Tank has been retired mid April 2017. Changed to IM 30L aio. FTS 3/12/17: FTS 10/01/16: FTS 9/9/16: FTS 9/4/16: I got an 18" marineland stand that looked really nice, but the door was only 7" wide! The back was wide open and had a 17" opening, so I'm making the back into the front. I found a cabinet door for free that was almost a perfect fit. I put some mini crown molding on the top and will be putting some on the base too. The stand will be painted white when finished. 3 Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
Primed and ready for base molding and more sanding. 1 Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
Just put on a coat of oil based enamel. Should be a nice hard, glossy, durable coating once it's cured. Once I get the sump built, I'll see why I can fit for shelving. Probably not much, since sump will be 16" cube. Not sure what's going on with photobucket right now. Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
Just a few touch ups and it's finished. Quote Link to comment

Nixperience
The sump came in! Now I just have to get baffles cut. I'm thinking skimmer front left, return back left, fuge 6" of the right side all the way back. Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
I changed the shelving as I thought it would make sump maintenance easier. The back shelf was 10" deep, now it's only 4". Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
i did a mock up of a 33 gallon cube and it's a perfect fit and the wife approved! I'm going bigger, yeah!!!! 2 Quote Link to comment

Nixperience
Came out really clean! Nice work, looking forward to seeing the tank and plumbing come together. Thanks. I've got my reverse durso made. I'm just waiting for my flex pvc to come in. Quote Link to comment
J-Ranko
Great job on the stand and the sump. Are you going to drill and plumb the display tank yourself? I really like following these DIY builds, though I myself prefer to buy things ready-made and off-the-shelf. Just too lazy. Quote Link to comment
rum_pride
Awesome build. Really creative flipping the stand. Simple, inexpensive and extremely effective. This is define a build that I'll be following. Quote Link to comment

When the tank comes in, I'm going to drill it at my LFS and I have a 700gph overflow from glass-holes going on it. Quote Link to comment
Matteo
Just a few touch ups and it's finished. I have really been digging white stands lately. Makes things look so modern! Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
Overhead view with reverse durso drain in place. Beamswork mounted should be sufficient for refugium. 1 Quote Link to comment
Matteo
blue line* is that where the water level will be at for the skimmer? Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
blue line* is that where the water level will be at for the skimmer? About 3" down from there. 10" water height in skimmer chamber. 1 Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
I have the drain piped up the back of the stand with a quick change coupling ready to receive the tank drain pipe. The return is split into 3/4" going up to a true union check valve and 1/2" tubing to a ball valve I will run through a reactor and into the refugium chamber. Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
Backside view of drain and return. Now I just have to get the bulkhead put on the tank and pipe it down. Quote Link to comment
Matteo
have you decided what lighting you will use? Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
have you decided what lighting you will use? I'm just going to use 2 primes. Then I can move them independently and get the best possible coverage for minimal investment. 1 Quote Link to comment

Nixperience
Finally moved in and was allowed to take a break from unpacking to fill the tank. Livestock and other light are at the LFS until the tank is cycled. I have 2 rocks from my other tank in there to help speed up the process. Quote Link to comment
